For the 2023 edition of the TCS Amsterdam Marathon, Mizuno teamed up once again with the Rijksmuseum to create two special edition shoes. This time, the collaboration aimed to pay tribute to one of the most renowned 17th-century Dutch painters, Johannes Vermeer.

Vermeer is famous for his mastery of stillness, light, and unique colors. Mizuno and the Rijksmuseum jointly selected "The Milkmaid" as the source of inspiration for the new Wave Rider 27 Amsterdam running shoe. Not only do the blue and yellow Pantone pigments reference the painting, but also details from the iconic artwork have been incorporated on the shoe's interior.
